Before I describe my problem, I should mention that I'm really bad with computers and I just know how to use the basic of the basic functions, such as using words, excel and internet (lol).
I have AVG 2013, and Spybot for my firewalls. My Spybot detected win32.downloade.gen today after I've updated it (it didn't detect a thing yesterday), but a weird error message pops out and it doesn't remove it. However, when I ran AVG, the program doesn't detect a thing even though it is up-to-date.
So I tried to google how to remove
win32.downloader.gen infection but because of my poor knowledge with computers, I didn't understand a thing and it seemed a lot of people were having the same problem as I have. However, I did try to look for registry key as this website http://virusremovalstation.blogspot.ca/2013/03/effectively-remove-win32downloadergen.html suggested but I couldn't find any of the mentioned registry keys at all.
So then I tried downloading super-anti spyware as one of the replier from this thread recommended http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/win32-downloader-gen/td-p/955235
. I am running the program now, and it found 3 threats that both AVG nor spybot failed to detect, however, it hasn't found win32.downloader.gen yet.
I visited some other forums and it mentioned something about OTL or attach a file of some kind of really complicated codes for the person to analyse....
Could someone help me, please?
