Hi. I have had really bad luck trying to replace a dead laptop and am hoping to get some guidance.

I just got a VAIO Ultrabook. I like it well enough, but within the first week of use it started making a chunking noise and seems as if it is trying to activate the optical drive when I am doing basic tasks (using the internet, using Word, etc.)

I have 2 more days left to return or exchange to the vendor.

Do I exchange the unit or is this activity normal for a laptop?

Previous laptops that I have owned have not made this kind of noise. If I return this will be the 2nd laptop return in the last month due to defects, so I am beyond frustrated and not sure how to proceed.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

Strictly my opinion:

Get it replaced.

Hi

I agree to dicke. This an abnormal behavior. Since you have 2 more days to return, i suggest doing so.
