I have been having a maddening problem where if I right click and make a selection, a ghost image of that selection appears and doesn't go away until I log off or restart (another issue, which may or not be related, is that I can no longer "Switch User" and get back to my desktop - the screen goes black and I have to reboot).

An example of the ghosting is below:

I strongly suspect this issue may have to do with Word/Office 2013, but I haven't been able to narrow it down.

Any help would be most appreciated, as it's been driving me a little batty.
