I have a dell inspiron n5110.  Recently I got the moneypak virus so I just decided to reinstall windows 7.  But now I cant log on to the internet, and when i went to device manager there are a bunch of exclamation marks and all of the items are controllers : ethernet controller, network controller, sm bus controller, pci simple communications controller.  Where do i get these things, the dell site has nothing

Have you searched by Service Tag to get the specific drivers for your unit?

Hi shashman,

You can search for the compatible drivers using "Service Tag" search on support.dell.com as suggested by Platypus or download the drivers for each component from the following link:
http://www.dell.com/support/troubleshooting/us/en/aubsd1/Product/inspiron-15r-n5110

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Thanks and Regards,
Rajath N

i just figured it out today.  I was reloading the windows 32 version on a windows 64 bit computer and thats why the 32 bit drivers that I downloaded didnt work.  I got a clue that the original OS was 64 bit because the installed ram was 6GB, and 32 bit can only handle uto 4.  Still I wish theyd said 64 bit on the computer label so it would be clear from the start.  Anyways problem solved, thanks all

Hi shashman,

Thank you for the update and I am glad to know that the problem has been resolved. You can check the system type (32-bit or 64-bit) from the basic information window by pressing the "Windows" + "Pause/Break" keys together.

Thanks and Regards,
Rajath N
