Hello all,

Just joined you all.. I am not computer guy.. don't know much about computer.

My computer got infected by FBI moneypak virus, my computer screen is locked and got the message that I have to pay $300 to FBI to unlock it. I can't go to the internet or start up button so I can't update my security.

I did google and find out about this virus but I am not sure after first/second step... please help me to remove virus from my window xp.

THANK you so much..

Moved from XP Forum to a more appropriate forum

Boot into safe mode w/ networking and you should be able to bypass it to start running scanning utilties. I recommend installing Malware Bytes first the run a full scan. Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

then Combofix:

Mod Edit; Removed ComboFix Link. Ill advised and against board Rules for posting in this section

Hello anjalis2013

Please note the message text in blue at the top of the Am I infected? What do I do? forum.

ComboFix logs should not to be posted outside the Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs forums and then only when requested by a Malware Removal Team member. It is an extremely powerful tool which should only be used when instructed to do so by someone who has been properly trained. ComboFix is intended by its creator to be "used under the guidance and supervision of an expert", NOT for general public or personal use. Please read Combofix's Disclaimer. Using this tool incorrectly could lead to disastrous problems with your operating system such as preventing it from ever starting again.

Please create a new topic explaining the nature of your problem in the Am I infected? What do I do? forum. Describe pop-ups and system tray or desktop icons that have appeared. Explain what is "going wrong" with your computer. Note any tools you have used and their respective results.

If needed, we will direct you to our Malware Removal Preparation Guide.

Thank you for using BleepingComputer as your malware removal source.
