About 4 days ago I accidentally clicked on an ad on a site streaming live hockey games.  Ever since then an ad service has taken over my browser.  At the bottom of the browser at 720x90 ad will slide up and stay there.  Also randomly when I click on the browser (Google Chrome) a new browser window will pop up in the back which has the address of thecdn.04stream.com/ext/pop.php  which redirects to another URL showing an ad.

I have tried many anti virus, malware software and I can't get rid of it.  I'm using Windows 7.  HELP!

I've been using IE doing quite a bit of searches, opening lots of sites and none of that activity is happening. So I'm going to say it's only on Chrome.

I followed those steps, did the .bat file, and it did not get rid of it.  There are  still slide up ads at the bottom of the browser.  There have not been any more pop up windows though.

Uninstall Chrome completely...

  1. Close all Chrome windows and tabs.
  2. Go to the Start menu > Control Panel. (Windows 8 users: Learn how to access the Control Panel)
  3. Click Programs and Features.
  4. Double-click Google Chrome.
  5. Click Uninstall from the confirmation dialog. Delete your user profile information, like your browser preferences, bookmarks, and history, by selecting the "Also delete your browsing data" checkbox.

Install fresh copy.

I did that and the slide up ads are still there in Chrome.  Firefox is really infected by something so I deleted it.

Do you use any adblocker like AdBlock Plus?

No I don't.  The bottom ad that slides up is the same one or two ads no matter what site I go to.

Install AdBlock Plus: http://adblockplus.org/en/chrome

Then you have to add a filter subscription. See HERE

Don't you think there's something loaded on my computer that's showing these ads?

I don't see anything malicious there anymore.

On a top of it only one browser is affected.
