Check this out. A car that does more than just your cruse control. It can keep a fixed distance between cars around you.

If you go to the pbs website you can learn about the recent robot cars race. Each car that made it to the starting line(qualified over all the others) would try and drive in a hilly,curvy and flat plained dessert with over 120 miles of track.
It was very neat to watch...Id love a robot driver. The front windsheild could become a movie screen!

Yea. Who knows maybe we will eventually have vehicles like in the movie I, Robot :thumbsup:

My friend had a good idea for cars to drive itself, it would souly depend on GPS. However, I think that would have been flawed because unless the cars around you had GPS, you couldn't detect them. So you would defintely need sensors for the road and cars.


I'd like to see those "self driving cars" go one of those 16 lane highways down in Texas. :flowers:

Well no car could ever run on gps alone. Gps only shows location and is not accurate to the amount of feet you would need to not collide with someone. You would need sensors no matter what.
