dear all

Since posting earlier problems (drive k: etc), i have given up my efforts

as i did not succeed in my attempts.

as a temporary measure, i open the system in safe mode with internet

options.  now i can open new word/excel documents, type on them but

the documents/sheets could not be save - some message comes saying

want of space/delete records, etc.  Also, the existing files could not be

opened - read only problem.

if the above problems are addressed/solved, i will be relieved of the

worries to certain extent.

looking forward to your valuable guidance.

What attempts did you make that were not successful?
In your topic here http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/494404/files-in-usb-drive-k/ in Am I Infected? this was given to you as a suggestion

I think it is the best for you to open your topic at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/22/virus-trojan-spyware-and-malware-removal-logs/
Follow this preparation guide --> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/34773/preparation-guide-for-use-before-using-malware-removal-tools-and-requesting-help/

It's up to you whether to follow that advice. I am not a malware removal specialist but it was pointed out in your Am I Infected topic that the some of the malware files failed to delete. Your first priority should be removing malware (if there is infection found), then you can, if needed, work on resolving your other issues.
Please post by here and let us know if you would like to continue in this topic OR if you followed the prep guide and posted in Malware Removal Logs.

The bit about "Want of space" suggests that your HDD might be overly full of data. Do you make it a regular habit to run Windows "Disk Cleanup" to get rid of unnecessary junk files ? Bear in mind that every time you go online with a computer, you get a bunch of junk files downloaded onto your "C" drive, so it is a good idea to run the "Disk Cleanup" program regularly.
