Prevx v3.0.5.220 on my unit shows ADWcleaner as malware. Infected with Community.OuterEdge.ADWcleaner.exe. Downloded it 3 times. Same each time. Anyone had this to happen to them? Thnxs

Hi,

you can try uploading the file to VirusTotal.com for scanning, if the file is being detected by most of the antivirus vendors, then it probably contains malware.

False positive. It is a valid tool. It was created here and used a 1000 times. We will need to contact PrevX and have them upate their database. At least you know your tool is working ,it doesn't know it's a good guy.

Hi -

You will find that many Malware type removal tools show as Adware or malware.

This is because they need to be aggressive on your system to remove infections and look inside your computer.

Many Antivirus, and a few Antimalware tools find this as unwanted, but they are normally F/Positives -

It is a valid tool. It was created here and used a 1000 times

Actually the tool was created by a French man, and there is a link to his site in our Downloads area -

Thank you -
