For an IT Specialist trying to advance in his field what certifications would be of bets interest overall?

I guess it depends on what you want to specialize in? If you like Routing then cisco certs are the way to go. If you are talking in general PC then A+, NET+ and or SECURITY+ would be a good start.

Oh it would be for Server Administration and Systems Administration overall.

For Server and or Systems admin you may want to look into the Microsoft and or Linux certs.
