PLEASE HELP ME!!!

A short while ago, my laptop went away for a checkup and shortly after it came back it suddenly started showing HDREG RUN TIME ERROR on start up. The Windows desktop appears as normal but a little box appears in the middle with this message in it and the OK button has to be hit before I can use the comp. . Being a complete numpty where error messages are concerned, I have no idea what it is or how to stop it from appearing or more important, whether it is an important message.

Can anyone out there help me fix this

MANY THANX

Hi Paseo,

I found the following information at a Packard-Bell help site.

To solve this issue, you should delete the HDReg entry from the Scheduled Tasks list.

To do so:
1. Click the Start button.
2. Click Control Panel.
* When in category view, click the Performance and Maintenance category.
3. Click the Control Panel icon Scheduled Tasks.
4. Select the item HDREG.
5. Click Delete this item and confirm the operation.

Hope this helps you.
The only easy day was yesterday.
