I'm looking for a freeware driver update utility that will scan my computer for drivers and suggest updates or download updates.  I've found some free programs but read some bad reviews.  Thought I would ask the brilliant minds on here.  Thanks

My Take on those types of programs is simple.

1. If it isn't broke do not fix it.

2. Do it manually if you feel you must. Go to the maker of the computer or Motherboard site for the drivers.

One exception would be if You are a gamer and need the latest drivers from Nvidia or ATI for the game to run good.

I also suggest avoiding windows update for drivers. They may work or they may break the feature. I've seen both.

Good Luck

My recommendation would be "SlimDrivers Free" if you need a program like this!

Used it for about a year now with no problems!
