I've had this issue for a couple of weeks without really bothering, but now it's quite an issue as I actually need those updates (Last update was half a year ago)

I've tried Microsoft Fix it and another troubleshooting tool from Microsoft which focused on this exact issue. However, that did not change a thing even though it stated that the issue has been fixed.

I'm getting told an error occurs when it searched for new updates for the computer.

''Code 8024800A''

I've tried running a SFC scan, but it closes in a millisecond.

Hello -

Please try this as a single hit with all of these commands as listed. Be sure to note all spaces -

a ) Click on “Start” and type “cmd” (without the quotations).

b ) When you see the “cmd” icon, Right Click on it and select “Run as administrator”.

c ) On the open Command Prompt window copy and paste the commands (all at once) –

net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
pause

d ) Wait for the process to complete.

e ) Close the Command Prompt.

Now, go to Windows Update and try installing the updates. Check if it helps.

Thank You -

I know it is a long process to add the full contents of that entry, but as a last resort, it usually helps - :thumbup2:
