Please tell me ;

What qualifies an individual to instruct technical advise concerning PC antivirus and malware

clean up procedures ? Just curious because the 19 yr old who is instructing me has only been a

member since April. so I was under the impression that technical people here are somehow

affiliated through membership to authorizations, etc..

The only area of Bleeping Computer that members must be 'qualified' or certified are the Malware Removal forum. Being a graduate of a UNITE affiliated malware removal school is that certification. In the other forums anyone is able to assist or offer suggestions. It is with peer review and or moderator review that the information provided is true and accurate. Member age and time of membership are not determining factors for validity or quality of information.

No, anyone can reply in the Am I Infected forums as long as they follow the pinned guidelines: Instructions for posting advice in Am I Infected.

The Malware Removal forum is here: Virus, Trojan, Spyware, and Malware Removal Logs

That forum is the one that only qualified malware removal specialists or staff are allowed to reply to members.

ahhh Its Ok just checking I don't mind I know you have a lot of experience, . .  but I have one PC down, can't blame anybody, . .

it went down after a curriculum like yours,   but after most was finished I defragmented and a couple files were not defragmented

and I was messaged to restart so I restarted manually , and now I am down because of a disc read error.

So I am missing my PC , . . just a little paranoid at this point.
