A couple of years ago, I installed W7 on my optiplex gx280...it took some searching and asking questions, but I finally found the right drivers, updates, etc.for everything to work properly, but I succeeded. The primary issue for me was being able to watch movies in formats like mp4, matroska...I use Zoom Player, Windows Media Player or Quicktime. Anyway, I had given this computer to someone and recently got it back, at which time I did a clean install of W7. Everything works fine except for my media players, and I don't remember how I solved this before. Would love some help on this. Thanks

Hi gtree :)

Must be a codec that needs to be installed. But try VLC first and see its supported formats http://www.videolan.org/vlc/features.html

I think you have a problem with VGA driver. Which VGA you have - ATI X300 or Intel 915 ?

If your Graphics is ATI you can try Win Vista drivers. Read the following link for more info.

If you have an onboard Intel 915 VGA, drivers are available through Windows update.
