Hi folks. Win 7- 64 bit, 6 gigs of memory. Disabled onboard sound and Installed Diamond Extreme Sound 7. 1 card with what I *believe* are the correct drivers. Sound was amazing - at first, then became progressively more scratchy with audio dropouts over the course of a couple of days. Oddly enough, rebooting gets rid of the problem completely - for awhile. I had been advised to install the C-Media drivers instead of Diamond's own drivers, so I did. I just can't understand why *rebooting* would clear up the static & dropouts. Does this sound like a driver problem or something else?

Thanks in advance! fritz

You should always download drivers from the manufacturer.  You can find drivers for this card here.

Family and loved ones will always be a priority in my daily life.  You never know when one will leave you.
