I'd recently compressed my computer's hdd :oopsign: and hence realized the need of a system repair disc .

So,after getting it repaired from a local computer shop I created one(after a span of some 7 months since I bought the laptop) and it was only of 243 MB .    :scratchhead:

I'm in doubt regarding this as repair disc cannot be of such a small amount .

I'm using ASUS X53U with Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit OS.

Help expected.

i can't remember how many MB's the discs i burned were, however some people with a Windows 7 32-bit installation burned one with only 145MB,so ...... you can also ask a friend  with the same Windows version and check that.

If you do have the Win 7 install disk there is no need for a standalone system repair disc. If your intention is to create a system recovery image please read the following tutorial .

I don't have the installation disk and hence preferred to create a restore disk .And the real problem rather doubt that I'm facing is how come a restore disk endup with 243MB while after such  a long time it must take atleast some 2-3GB space or even more than that.

Anyway the link I above is really nice.

Thanks......

Thanks for your kind reply !

A local computer shop owner suggested me that a repair disc can be made  only within a month of buying a computer .

Hi

You confused 'System repair disc' with 'Recovery Disc'. A system repair disc essentially a WinPE disc with some limited troubleshooting tools like System restore and Command prompt etc. A recovery disc is an image of your OS which can be used to restore OS when it got corrupted. You can create a recovery disc by reading the link provided in my previous post.
