Does anyone know how to replace the touch screens of a TomTom and then have it actually work?  I've actually replaced the screens but the touch function does not work.  Any help/guidance would be appreciative.

With the cost of GPS dropping to what they are today, don't people just buy new units &'transfer the waypoints? If you changed the screen, it maybe that there is software that has to accompany it, so it recognizes that it is a touch screen.

COSTCO has Garmin GPS for around $100. Save yourself the headache & purchase a new Garmin. Your time is worth more than fiddling with a unit that takes more effort & time money spent, to repair the component.

So very true, however the curiosity and the challenge of such an endeavor intrigues me.  Not only that but it pisses me off that we are 'forced' to buy something.  I realize that it might be a waste of time but that is for me to determine.  Besides, since when is obtaining new knowledge a waste of time?

I have only a suggestion. Perhaps it is screen Calibration

How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook

I wasn't knocking the prowess or the motivation to acquire more skill, via messing with devices. I actually do the same myself. And, as to the post of 'calibration', try that. That may do the trick. Plus there is a forum on the Garmin site.

Taking the time to tinker, isn't a waste of time. I know we are a throw away society & it is nice that people save what they can; not only in monetary, but the labor took to make those devices.
