hi guys,

I have a intel D845GVSR board, 2.4Ghz cpu, 1.50gb of ram and windows xp sp2 version. I recently purchased a Dell 18.5" monitor but can't set the desired 1366x768 resolution which is recommended for monitor. The highest it shows is 1280x768 but it is not giving the best graphics as the graphics seem distorted. What should I do? Should I update it with a graphic card but Iam not sure which graphic card is best for this board. Plz help... Thnx in advance...  :thumbup2:

Why are you still running SP2? Microsoft stopped support for SP2 3 years ago...

Here is the driver for your graphic card

Do you use integrated or have PCI Graphic Card?

Motherboard specs at http://www.compuvest.com/Desc.jsp?iid=1852627  .

Your motherboard has 3 PCI slots, no pci-E slot...so you require a PCI video card.  The cheapest that I see (here in the U.S.) is the one linked to below.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_0_11?url=search-alias%3Dcomputers&field-keywords=video%20cards&sprefix=video+cards%2Caps%2C210#/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=node%3D284824&field-keywords=Visiontek+900089+Radeon+7000+Video+Card+-+64MB%2C+PCI%2C+w%2FDVI%2FTV-OUT&rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A541966%2Cn%3A193870011%2Cn%3A284824%2Ck%3AVisiontek+900089+Radeon+7000+Video+Card+-+64MB%5Cc+PCI%5Cc+w%2FDVI%2FTV-OUT

The key thing to note when surveying what's available locally for you...would be the maximum resolution as listed in the PCI card specs.

It's an extremely good result to score a resolution that's not officially supported in the specification. Nice one!
