My friend has an Acer Aspire 3100 laptop that is infected with a version of the FBI ransomware that also affects Safe Mode. I made a USB bootable version of Hitmanpro to take it out but the USB ports will not work. Nothing. No mouse, USB key or Keyboard will work in any of the three USB ports. I cannot therefore boot to the usb stick to run hitmanpro.

Is there a verison or way to boot to the CD and take care of this problem?

I did make a Knoppix CD and booted to it. I was going to copy hitmanpro to the windows harddrive and then add it to the run folder in windows to make it run on boot, but then I realized that the Knoppix CD must stay in the drive so I cannot swap it out :)

All I have is the CDRom to work with. Any Ideas?

Maybe a smaller version Linux such as Puppy so that is runs from ram and then I can switch out the cd for one that has Hitmanpro on it..copy it to c: and add to start folder?
