Recent BSOD problem

Hey guys.
Recently I received a BSOD error, I tried to figure it out what it is but I'm not quite sure what's the problem.. I will attach some files that might help. Also I used BlueScreenView and found out that "dxgmms1.sys" and "ntoskrnl.exe" are in red, hehe :)

I would really appreciate if someone could help me out :)

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

 Checkmark the following checkboxes:

  List last 10 Event Viewer log
  List Installed Programs
  List Users, Partitions and Memory size.


 Click on Go to start the scan.  Once it is finished highlight the text, copy it and paste it in your next post.

1.)  I would suggest that you first go to the AMD website for your specific graphics card, AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series, and see if there is a more recent driver/software package.  If so download and install.

2.)  If still having problems, see Diagnosing basic problems with DirectX.

3.)  Your computer is running 16 GB of memory, half at 677 MHZ and the other half at 800 Mhz.  It never hurts to run a memory test overnight:
 It is best to test memory outside the Windows operating system, so please follow this post: Windows 7 - RAM - Test with Memtest86+ to either create a bootable CD (Method 2)  or bootable USB flash drive (Method 1) to run the test.

  • Once the computer is booted from the CD or USB flash drive, MemTest86+ will start automatically and continue until you stop it by pressing the ESC key.
  • My recommendation would be to run MemTest86+ overnight; 24 hours rather than just 7 passes.
    • There should be NO errors reported.
    • The test can be stopped by pressing the ESC key as soon as an error is reported or after a suitable testing period without errors .
  • See Part 3: If you have errors.
    • Warning: If your computer is still under warranty, opening the case to remove memory for testing purposes, may VOID that warranty.

Edited to add:  Your system partition only has 12% free space.  It may be helpful from a performance stand point to free up an additional 5-10 GB of space.

I made the memory test that my Windows 7 system has, no errors and also my RAM is about 2 months old..

 

I went to AMD website and downloaded fresh drivers although I already had my drivers up to date :)

 

I will try to do something with DirectX now and if I keep receiving the BSOD, I will come back here and let you know :D

Another consideration with this RAM is that the 800MHz will underclock to the slower 677MHz speed.

 

You have Razer Game Booster which looks like it may be a corrupted download, I would uninstall it and download it again if you wish to use it.

 

To address the Shadow Copy issue go to Start> Control Panel > System> Advanced System Settings.

Click on the System Protection Tab.

In the Protection Settings box, select the System Drive (Usually C:).

Click the Configure Button.

In the Disk Space Usage section, use the slider to increase the amount of disk space allocated to System Restore.

Click on Apply, then OK.

You can also use the Disk Cleanup tool to remove all but the latest System Restore Points. This will likely give you back a large amount of free disk space.

 

Go to Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Cleanup. Select to clean up the files for All Users.

 

You will have the option of selecting which files to remove, it will be safe to remove anything on the list.

 

Select the Clean Up System Files button.  This will show a new Tab called More Options. Click this tab and in the System Restore and Shadow Copies section, click the Cleanup Button. This will delete all but the most recent System Restore Point.

Looking at your Speccy you have four partitions on your hdd, the partition 1 which is designated as your C: drive should be the one with the operating system.  You only have 12% free space out of a capacity of 120GB partition.  I would suggest that you run the Disk cleanup tool first to see how much free space you get back.  I would also suggest that you only use partition 1 for the operating system and put the other programs, data, ect. on one of the other partitions.  12% free space is getting too small for swap space and will effect the speed of the hdd, this is part of your problem.  With partition 2 and 3 you have over 600GB of hdd space.  Please do this first and look in Computer Management to see how much free space you have on partition 1.

 

Go to Start> right click on Computer> Manage> Disk Management.
