I just got a new PC and it has a flat panel LCD monitor and I'm wondering if it can be damaged by leaving it on the same screen for a long time or should I enable a screen saver.

I currently have no screen saver set but have it set to turn off the monitor after 20 minutes. The PC takes a few seconds to respond after moving the mouse to turn on the monitor and this is kind of annoying. I would like to just leave the monitor on all the time, or have it turn off after a couple hours. Would that hurt the monitor?

Thanks in advance!

Steve

Screenburn is not a problem nowadays on LCDs. But leaving the monitor on for hours is going to inflate the electrical bill.
