Hello!

I've been having this problem with the Alureon rootkit for a long time now. I originally suspected a virus because of slow performance from my computer (which was especially strange because I have a SSD), so I downloaded the free version of Malwarebytes. It detected Alureon but couldn't get rid of it, so I scanned with MSE to see if that could get rid of it. It couldn't, of course. I then downloaded Windows Defender (something like that), which couldn't get rid of it either, so I gave up and it's just been lingering on my computer for who knows how long. I recently downloaded avast, which also can't get rid of it, but keeps reporting these malicious URLs every minute or so. I like to think they're keeping them at bay, but they're getting annoying. I was hoping you guys could offer your advice on this situation. Thank you in advance.

Oh, and these are what Avast keeps warning me about every damn minute: (obviously don't click on the url)

Welcome aboard p22002758.gif

This type of infection will require elevated help.

Please follow the instructions in THIS GUIDE starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it HERE. Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

Thank you for the welcome and the help, it's very much appreciated! I'll get started on this when I get home tomorrow, it's getting kind of late here.
