Hi bleeping computer family

i read these forums often but never contribute and never signed up for an account until now

i like to figure out how to fix things on my own but i'm at a crossroads with an old bleeping vaio who was introduced to china by way of, well, living in china

next will be figuring out how to fix my friend's netbook i'm borrowing who has tremendously amusing keyboard problems (so please forgive my occasionally unorthodox spelling - sometimes the o's go out, sometimes the c's, the j's, the k's, the shift key rarely works, i haven't had punctuation in weeks - and sometimes the k's and periods randomly insert themselves at their own apparent will, however i can never command a period to manifest onto the screen by my own choice)

first stop today will be looking at how hard drives are powered, where, by what kinds of connections and whether i can macgyver a connection on a new one i just bought whose placement is 'not very convenient' as they say in chinese (bu tai fangbian

so thank you for existing, oh community of computer lovers and haters

- may
