I have just reinstalled windows 7 using HP recovery DVDs and I want to download service pack 1, but it is not on the list when I use windows update. Microsoft has an option to download it on its own on their web site but it is a much bigger download than using windows update and it downloads so slowly that it would take many hours. I could order the disk, but who knows how long that would take. I just want to download sp1 using windows update, is there any way to get it to work?

Hello :)

Please follow these instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2498452

and let me know whether they resolve your problem, or whether you require further assistance.

In addition, if you identify the problem, but are unable to resolve it, just let me know and I will be happy to help!

Thank you!

Hi Zone out -

I installed it via Windows Updates and had no problems - Check for all updates and see if it is listed -

I have found the link site offers the download also, but it seems larger. The Update was a Mass Output so they would keep it smaller.

Keep doing the Windows Updates even after you have SP1, as there will be a few more -

Regards -

Standalone SP1 setup will come handy if you format the PC in future. So i recommend that.
