So I came homw from a 2 day trip and my daughter used my laptop and was on a popular web site for kids, Marapets.com.  I closed out the browser and reopened.  It seemed to be working okay but then started running very slow and eventually I needed to restart.  Well, the computer wouldn't restart so I held down the power button and turned off.  When it powered back up the normal screen telling me Windows didn't close properly came up.  I seleted the recommended restart setting as I normally would.  The windows logo came up for a few seconds as it normally would, then a blue sreen with a bunch of writing on it flashed but it was so fast I couldn't possibly see what it was.  Then a blank blue screen appeared with a large pointer icon appeared and that was it.  Nothing more.

I tried Control Alt delete and got nothing.  Powered down again and hit F8, tried repair and the black CMD box popped up and it said 'Please wait..." for 10 seconds and then back to the plain blue screen.  Tried restarting in Safe Mode and couldn't.

I am FREAKING out.  EVERYTHING is on this machine and it is my work computer.

Can anyone PLEASE help me?  I have another PC and flash drive

Thank you in advance SO much.

Have you tried booting in safe mode?

Power the system on and immediately hit F8 repeatedly, then select safe mode with networking.

If you can't even get that far, it may be a hardware problem. :/
