ok i will have to do that do you know anything i should use to scan with for autorun or the best software to scan with

When done with your external....

 

Uninstall Firefox completely using this guide: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox

 

Install fresh copy and see how FF works.
