i couldn't find any help in a forum of my first language so i thought i try an english speaking one.

Can someone explain me the mechanism of the "facebook-city"? There seem to be cities which are created by facebook itself, as f.e. even big german cities have the english wikipedia-text on them: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mainz-Germany/112084802143084?fref=ts

I was wondering who it is possible to add such a wiki-link to other cities such as https://www.facebook.com/pages/Lindau-Niedersachsen-Germany/106375832729146

One could think that facebook does this in dependency of the city-size but sometimes even really small cities have this link while bigger ones don't.

Can someone enlight me?

Maybe this will help. Facebook does not create these city pages. Someone within the city staff does.

cities are not officially allowed to have their own facebook page. So I'm guessing this is something Facebook does in their own free time, so to say.
