This site rocks! I am thankful that I get to hang around experts as it allows me to

That's right! I am a total newbie that hangs around computer experts in hopes that I may learn from the overflow of knowledge they have. At the very least, I hope I don't pass as a total computer idiot. But we all have to start somewhere, or so I been told.

My hope is that I make a smooth transition from idiot  to literate :flowers: .

Um, to start, I am from Houston, Texas and no, I am not a counrtygirl. I do have a slight accent though.
And I am anxious to learn. That's all for now. So let the brainjogging commence!

Anyone who asks questions is not an idiot, just not knowledgeable in the subject (computers in this case). Every member here began, at some time, as a complete novice, so you will receive TLC here.

Welcome motherfury and for TLC ... questions:
What model PC, (cpu/RAM), operating system, peripherals & relevant third-party software are you using?

Hint: It helps to know so you become more conversant regarding most any aspect
of "tailored help" if we read specs that clarify matters of concern to you.
For instance, any post containing a brief rundown like:

Dell Laptop Inspiron 5100 2.6 GHZ 512 MB
HP PSC 1610 All-in-One
Canon PowerShot A540
Nero 6, AVG Free, Spy-bot 1.4, SpywareBlaster (etc.)

... before the question (like)

"I'm unable to edit pictures from my camera and get the results I want when I burn them to CD ... etc."

will generally give you valuable information you can immediately use.
patiently patrolling, plenty of persisant pests n' problems ...

Thanks for the tip.

just so you know- AMD Athlon 1.10 GHz
512 MB RAM
Win XP Pro 2002 service pack 2
cd player 45x
spybot S&D 1.4
Sunbelt Kerio Personal Firewall
Ad-Aware SE Plus
TrojanHunter 4.5
CWS shredder
Mozilla FireFox
Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5

I recently built it so I don't have an office suite but will be getting OpenOffice soon. For now I just have a basic PC. And yes I have HJT! Just in case. But have no probs lately. Just hanging around to learn from this Kickin' site!
