I tried HitMan Pro for the DOJ ransonware with the $450 designation (I assume these went up from $100 to $200 to $300 to $450 in "updating" the virus itself?). Maybe I need to go back and download the 32-bit version, but on the screen after telling the computer that I want to boot from the USB drive, I enter "1" to specify the drive and get a message at the top of the screen that the computer was unable to access or connect to something (I am not in front of it right now). If I hit "ENTER", the computer boots and the screenlocker comes on. It looks lke the HitMan screen is trying to come on but it just flashes and the screenlocker restores.
Do I need a more recent version of the HitMan uninstaller - the one I downloaded said it was a $300 "fine" specified in the malware - this malware screenlocker said $450.
