My Agere PCI SV992pp, driver: 2.1.65.0, modem will no longer completes the sending of faxes.  I have a few software programs (MightyFax, FaxTalk, and the Win XP fax software), but my faxes do not get sent with any of them!

Here's what happens with EACH of the faxing software:

the status box shows 'Dialing',

then I hear the fax tone;

then the status box shows 'Establishing Communications',

and about 4 seconds after that the fax tone goes silent;

then a few seconds after that, it hangs up and shows the fax as 'failed'.

I can receive faxes normally.

I have WinXP Home -- v5.1 -- SP3

I'm at my wits ends--HELP! Thank you!

BTW, Here is the text from the modem's log:

Are you having any problems just surfing the Web?

I can't find anything using Google...on the hardware mentioned.

Web surfing is fine.  Only problem is as mentioned regarding the sending of faxes using a faxing software.  The fax line I am trying to reach is a valid & working fax line.

Well...I would uninstall/reinstall the modem.

If no joy via that, then I'd be thinking of replacing the modem.

Actually...I would also try one of the free online fax capabilities for comparative reasons.  I haven't used a fax modem in years, but I have used one or two of the free services for those few times when I've had to fax.
