Platform:  Windows 7 64 bit, SP 1
When I first boot my laptop and launch IE, sometimes I will get a message that IE "stopped working". Note that I have my home page set to "about:blank". But when the 'stopped working' problem occurs, I notice that the page IE is trying to get to is
      res://ieframe.dll/acr_depnx_error.htm#,about:blank

rather than just plain "about:blank".  And when IE is working properly, when first launched, the home page that shows up in the address bar is "about:blank" and not the other weird URL.

Note that I have scanned my machine with Avast, Malwarebytes, Stinger, TDSSKiller, Windows Software Malicious Tool, GMER, and SUPERAntiSpyware -- nothing was found.

Any idea what is gong on?
