My Windows 'Action Center' told me that I had this virus - Win32/Small.CA - a few months ago.

I have to confess that I ignored it after doing a Sophos scan which came back clean.

But lately I became worried about it and came across this site and saw that others had had this problem - that Action Center says there's this virus, but all scans come back clean.

Yesterday I did a Sophos scan, a Malware bytes scan, a Spybot scan, a Windows Defender scan and a Microsoft Safety Scanner scan and they all came back clean.

I am not sure if I have the virus or not.

I have a Dell Inspiron N5010 that has Windows 7.

I would be really grateful for any advice. Thanks very much in advance

Welcome aboard p22002758.gif

Please follow the instructions in THIS GUIDE starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it HERE. Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

Hi, thanks very much for helping me. I'm sorry to ask an annoying question, but I am not sure how to disable script-blocking software as DDS requires. I have Sophos, Spybot and Malware Bytes - do I just turn these off?

Yes all of them (MBAM only if you have paid for version, which runs in real time).
