internet explorer problems.. and internet options gone.

okay, so i have a windows xp SP2, and im running internet explorer 8. when i go to control panel, all i see for internet options is the little picture and not lettering, but i still click on it and absolutely nothing haappens. then if i open internet explorer, i dont have the menu, toolbar, nothing, nothing, nothing... just see a yellow star the the left. thats all. i need serious help with this pc. i would appreciate any help... and also, i cant even download anything at all. all i can do is surf the web and make an account. cant even copy paste anyh=thing on the web.   :(

I would try resetting IE, How to reset Internet Explorer settings - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 .

 

 

I also suggest that you install SP3 and all subsequent critical updates, once you get your browser functioning.
