I have Windows XP Professional. and it is really run slow and drags continually. So hope some of you professionals out there can lead me a helping hand in optimizing this computer.

I had Windows Me until a few weeks ago when I had to install XP for college courses I am taking. I knew a little bit on things to do in Windows Me to optimize it. However, in XP it is all totally different. I don't know what to turn off or leave on.

Hi SeaSideAngel and Welcome to BC

I used this guide at Extreme Tech to get me started quite a while ago. You might want to give it the once over also while you wait for some of our Pros here.
