Have a new HP Envy DV6 with the rt3290 and the wifi is slow unstable and has terrible range. HP has sent a new one, done all kinds of software playing around, I think it's a bad antenna. But figured I'd ask around.

I'm new here, and not a comp expert, what say all you?

Though that driver is not specified for my model a dv6-7214nr I gave it a go, it's installed now. So far no improvement, still going about half speed. Thanks though, you'd think with all my chats with HP and all that BS they would have mentioned that. I had version 5.0.8.0, that update is 5.0.15.0, HP kept telling me the latest was 5.0.5.0
