While in the process of removing a Trojan in

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/489817/request-assistance-removing-zero-access-trojanrootkit/

I realized that I could not boot into Safe Mode.

The BIOS allows me to select Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, and Safe Mode with Command Prompt.

However, after it tries to boot up, it doesn't quite get there, but automatically boots instead.

How can I fix this?

I ran it, and I still have the exact same problem.

Also, in the other forum, I used Windows Repair (all in one), to try to repair Safe Mode, and that didn't work either.

What method are you using to get into Safe Mode?
I jab the F8 key during bootup at about 1-second intervals and the Safe Mode screen comes up after half a minute.

I am using the exact same method you describe. I press F8 key repeatedly, it then gives me a choice of Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, and Safe Mode Command Prompt, among other options. Then it tries to boot up into Safe Mode and then goes into a spontaneous automatic reboot, and I'm back where I started.
