hi everyone

I'm a bit confused. I've just done a reinstall of my laptop (using vista and its an Acer Aspire 5735Z). i've done it once before a couple of months ago and never remember having this problem but the tap to select / double tap function of the touch pad stopped working as soon as i did the install. the strange thing is the left and right hand mouse button on the laptop is still working.

its really confusing and so frustrating. i carried out a reinstall to get rid of problems (not enough HDD space, malicious cookies etc) but now seem to have given myself one that shouldnt even be there in the first place. i have gone into the device settings on the control panel and apparently its working fine. dont think so!

using a mouse with a laptop is just getting in the road and i shouldnt have to do this. any help or advice as i dont have a clue where to start? :(
