I have a Toshiba Satellite P100 laptop running Win. XP Pro SP3  IE version 8. I am having problems with unrelated ads poppng up with links. For example: I am reading an article about virus protection and there is a link for more information, but when I move the cursor over the link an ad pops up for surveys or cold cream - totally irrelevant! When I use the browser's arrow to go to a previous web page - nothing happens. I have to re-enter the search criteria and strart over. I also noticed some different URLs at the bottom left of the web page: cdn.udmserve.net, or i.trkjmp.com. This morning the computer did not boot up. I had to restart twice before it loading windows.

What I have done is: Scanned with updated versions of Malwarebytes, Chameleon Anti - Root Kit,  AVG Anti-Virus, and Kaspersky  TDSKiller. All reports found no threats! The inside of the laptop has been cleaned to include fans/heatsinks. Fresh thermal paste was applied as  well.

Thanks in advance!

I think we should get a deeper look. Please follow this Preparation Guide and post in a new topic.

Let me know if all went well.

How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
