I deleted your second topic, which was in the wrong forum.

There are many reasons why a system freezes...insufficient RAM is one of those.

To determine just where the problem lies, let's gather some data.  Please follow the directions listed below.

Please download MiniToolBox  , save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:

List last 10 Event Viewer log

  List Installed Programs

List Users, Partitions and Memory size.

Click Go and paste the content into your next post.

Also...please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy - http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic323892.html/page__p__1797792#entry1797792 , taking care to post the link.  Do not copy/paste data from the report.

Freezing...can be caused by any number of factors...from malware to overheating to O/S issues to other hardware issues.

Looking at your errors...they indicate problems with HP printer software, your backup software, MS.NET Framework, and Adobe Reader.

I would uninstall (using Add/Remove Programs) ...

All printer software

Adobe Reader X (10.1.4) (Version: 10.1.4)
Ask Toolbar (Version: 1.15.24.0)

Avira Search Free Toolbar

BPD_Scan (Version: 3.00.0000)
BrowserProtect
Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer (Version: 1.0.0)
Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer (Version: 7.4.3607.2246)
Google Update Helper (Version: 1.3.21.135)
Java Auto Updater (Version: 2.1.9.0)
Java SE Development Kit 7 Update 10 (Version: 1.7.0.100)
Java™ 6 Update 35 (Version: 6.0.350)
MixiDJ Chrome Toolbar (Version: 1.0.0.0)
MixiDJ Toolbar  (Version: 1.8.4.1)
Search.com Toolbar v6.6 (Version: 6.6)

I would install http://www.java.com/en/download/windows_ie.jsp?locale=en , yours was outdated and, therefor vulnerable.

If you cannot uninstall any of the above via Add/Remove Programs...then you should follow the directions for using Revo Uninstaller,  http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic397185.html/page__pid__2246595#entry2246595 .

After uninstalling the above...I would run chkdsk /r.  Start/Run...type chkdsk /r and hit Enter.  Type Y in new screen and hit Enter.  Reboot the system.

For the record, my PC has recently been freezing and the local computer shop suggested overheating was behind it, they said something about a small area of paste between two components had become brittle and had lost its heat-insulating properties

So I gave them the go-ahead to apply new paste and it cured the problem (for 39 GB pounds/60 US dollars, ouch)
