Hi all.
I am just new here in fact I have just registered a while ago.

I wish to ask help whether is my PC infected.

History:

I have been using combofix for a while now. ( i have used it last year and then stopped and then I started using it again for about a couple of months now).

I have a current antivirus (other) but I still run combofix to make sure and double check.

However, about a week now I have been getting this "System file infected - C:/windows/system32/services/exe"

I scan my pc at least twice a day with combofix and in a week I get that infected-thing at least three times in a week.

I would like to seek help if anyone can help?

I wish I could post the log txt from combofix, however I have gathered that I cannot easily post the screenshot of the combofix log txt? Is this true?

Or if you can refer me to the proper thread where I could get help would be much appreciated.

Please help me.

Thank you all and best regards.

Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<== starting at Step 6. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.

Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues, what you have done to resolve them, and a link to this topic.

If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.

It would be helpful if you post a note here once you have completed the steps in the guide and have started your topic in malware removal. Good luck and be patient.

If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members.

Hello and thank you narenxp.

I went to check your advice, but before I proceed with the "Download and run DDS"

May I ask what  "Disable any script-blocking programs" means?

My apology I'm really not a computer savvy.

Thanks.

Some antivirus programs and even browser extensions can block you and some malicious sites from running any scripts. He wants you to disable those programs, so they won't block you from running that script

So, I will disable my McAfee? What about extensions?

I did try to download and save the DDS and once saved I clicked on it and run

but I only got as far as the "start" and then nothing happens.

I didn't get to the part whereit shows the "attach.txt"

and it just doesn't continue running even if I keep repeating (thrice).

So I deleted the DDS again.

Sorry.

Or you could check if there are any settings for anti-script stuff. Wait for some professional help, I don't know enough to help you any further

Sorry for responding late.

If you are not able to run DDS even in safemode, please create a topic in malware removal forum and explain your issues. One of the malware helpers will have a alternative way,

Hi narenxp:

I just did and run combofix a while ago and this was it says: "system file is infected - C:/windows/system32/services/exe"

it's the same one that I was getting the other few times. Then combofix says "attempting to restore" and after while it says something "couldn't find... this may take sometime" and I clicked yes.

Sorry guys. Really not a techie guy.

Hope someone can help.

Cheers.

I never asked you to run combofix or post the logs here. All discussions regarding combofix or combofix log should be done in virus removal forum and not here.

Create a topic, post the combofix log and wait for an expert to respond.
