well im not sure what i have , its cross between a worm, rootkit, and hacker...it has wrote itself to the mbr and the bios, ive killed the bios reprogramed the bios changed harddrives reformatted the hard drives multable times installed xp , then windows 7 which im running now and its still here. i bought unhack me and it finds some of the rootkit but it cant remove it due to it being locked its also some kind of kernal boot or something , i really dont know exacly what it is. ive searched for it online and havent found anything on it , also i talked to a pc repair shop and the guys talked to me like i was stupid and didnt know anything. i have seen the before and no one seems to know anything about it or how to remove it or even find it or anything. when i got it i installed backtrack multi boot with my xp windows then i wiped out the drive reinstalled windows... dont know if that had nothing to do with it. then when i noticed it i had copyed a music cd from a friend that had burn it and i think the cd was where it actually came from. it shuts down firewall antivirus and anything to do with that first thing . then it does remote connections and then installs stuff in the registery it does something and waits til i click on something the more i click on the more it releases stuff that takes over my computer it takes away my c drive. gives me a local c drive and sends my c drive down the network and all my files . i stumbled on the microsoft managment console an with it and the inernet explorer it tells me something about backtracking to bring back my files gives me several buttons that is not normaly on a clean system with drop down boxes when i click them it gives me files by name ,size ,type , date, and i check mark the box and the file get moved from the network back to the desktop ...only if i do it right. i dont know if its just tricking me or really what its doing ...since then i wwas on a wireless internet where i was using my neigbors internet but i have since bought my own internet and now im hard wired it has infected my tower pc and two laptops and about five hard drives. i almost think i have fix my tower but im not sure for sure i know this ones still got it and the other laptop for sure has it. can anyone help. and has anyone heard of this that can tell me the name an how to remove this. oh yea it does something to the shared folders and the favorates folders , it changed my wireless connection an bridged it with the ethernet connection some how and made it think it was hardwired when it was not. i am very confused ...it does so many differant things i havent worded it right on my searches to find out what it was

Hello, Welcome to BleepingComputer.
I'm nasdaq and will be helping you.

If you can please print this topic it will make it easier for you to follow the instructions and complete all of the necessary steps.
Please download ComboFix from any of the links below, and save it to your desktop. For information regarding this download, please visit this web page: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix
Link 1
Link 2

IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

1. Close any open browsers.
2. Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interfere with the running of ComboFix.
3. Do not install any other programs until this if fixed.

How to : Disable Anti-virus and Firewall...

Double click on ComboFix.exe and follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a report for you.
  • Please post the C:\ComboFix.txt
Note: Do not mouse click ComboFix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall

Note: If you have difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, refer to this link --> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.html

Note: If after running ComboFix you get this error message "Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion." when attempting to run a program all you need to do is restart the computer to reset the registry.

Third party programs if not up to date can be the cause of infiltration an infection.

Please run this security check for my review.

Download Security Check by screen317 from here.
  • Save it to your Desktop.
  • Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.
  • A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.

Search and delete the AdWare, PUP (Potentially Unwanted Program) installed on your computer.

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your Desktop.
  • Close all open programs and internet browsers.
  • Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Delete tab follow the prompts.
  • A log file will automatically open after the scan has finished.
  • Please post the content of that log file with your next answer.
  • You can find the log file at C:\AdwCleaner[Rn].txt (n is a number).
Please paste the logs in your next reply DO NOT ATTACH THEM.
Let me know what problem persists.
