I have a used motherboard and cpu from my computer from when I upgraded recently, and was thining of trying and using those to upgrade my parent's old computer. However, I currently do now have any DDR3 ram.

I was wondering if their DDR2 RAM would be compatible with my Gigabyte B75m-D3H and i5-3570.

Hi

\Please do not try and use the DDR2 in that Motherboard. They are different electrically and physically.

That Motherboard takes DDR3 and can not use DDR2 or DDR memory.

If You could manage to force it in all that would happen would be a damaged motherboard. Usually a puff of smoke and a damaged memory and motherboard.

You will have to get DDR3 memory that meets the boards requirements.

Good Luck

Roger
