I was recently advised by my "computer guru" to download something called ComboFix, thru this website to possibly fix why my computer is running so slowly. I clicked on the "download" button, it said it was downloading. About 45 minutes later, it STILL said it was downloading. He had told me it could take up to a half hour to RUN the program but didn't say it would take that long or longer just to download it. Is there something wrong with the download or was that really the "running" mode?? Please forgive me if this is the wrong forum to ask this question, I'm new to this forum stuff.

Combofix is not meant to "fix" general computer problems.

ComboFix is a program, created by sUBs, that scans your computer for known malware, and when found, attempts to clean these infections automatically.

Publisher's Description
From sUBs:
Combofix was designed to scan a computer for known malware, spyware (SurfSideKick, QooLogic, and Look2Me as well as any other combination of the mentioned spyware applications) and remove them.

There are other things you can do to try to cure the slowness.

Have you run antivirus and malware scans?
