I'm experiencing symptoms of infection but I'm not sure what infection, even if there is one. My IE9 hangs up while "waiting for http//..." and chrome browsing just fails to a could not be connected page while showing a SnapDo url. Lastly, I have found a few programs on my PC that Revo did not pick up, like Bonjour, and tried to remove them, yet MBAM and MSE have both failed to detect any threats. My browsers are becoming impossible to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

RKILL
  • Please download Rkill by Grinler from one of the 4 links below (if one of them does not work try another.) and save it to your desktop:
  • Link 1
  • Link 2

  • In order for Rkill to run properly you must disable your anti-malware software. Please refer to this page if you are not sure how.
  • Double-click on Rkill. (If you are using Windows Vista, please right-click on it and select Run As Administrator)
  • Note: You may have to run Rkill a few times before it is successful. You may also have to download Rkill from a different link which will save it as a different file name.
  • A black screen will appear and then disappear. Please do not worry, that is normal. This means that the tool has been successfully executed.
  • An Rkill.log will appear. Please copy and paste the contents in your reply (file also located at c:\rkill.log)
  • Do not reboot your computer after running Rkill as the malware programs will start again. If your computer reboots, run Rkill again before continuing on to the next step.
  • If nothing happens or if the tool does not run, please let me know in your next reply.

K here are the logs. Just to note ESET Online Scanner pretended to crash at 99% and a "Not Responding" box prompt asked me to close it but when I selected "ok" it completely the scan and I was able to view the results; and, a missing DLL error popped up as JRT was doing it's 'quick' scan but did not seem to interrupt it. Also, before I paste this wall of text, I wanted to ask if you had a recommendation for cleaning up unnecessary files left behind by programs that I've removed. I currently use Revo Uninstaller and as long as I remove the program with Revo it does a really great job; but, I don't always have that option since Revo doesn't detect every program, it seems, and there are many that I've removed in the past. One folder example is AppData/Local(roaming). It's full of information to programs I don't have, and don't recall ever installing.

Did you remove the infections detected by ESET scanner?

Malwarebytes

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop. If you already have it installed launch the program and update the database.

  • Make sure you are connected to the Internet and double-click on the it to install the application.
  • When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings except to uncheck any offer for a free Pro trial version
  • Malwarebytes will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.
  • If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button and continue.
  • Under the Scanner tab, make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected.
  • Click on the Scan button.
  • When finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box, then click the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked and then click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows the database version and your operating system.
  • Exit Malwarebytes when done.

Note: If Malwarebytes encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so it can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally will prevent Malwarebytes from removing all the malware.

While running ESET I followed your instruction verbatim. I checked the "Remove found threats" option before the scan.

Run ESET once again and make sure it comes out clean

Restart the PC and let me know if you have any issues

C:\Documents and Settings\Cody\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\10\745845ca-507c4bff Java/Exploit.CVE-2013-0422.BH trojan

ESET listed only this program... but cleaned none, it also crashed at 99% once again, but when I chose to close it from the pop-up window it quickly flipped over to the completed scan window... where I was able to get the list of threats. I'm not sure if ESET is crashing like this because of my settings or not.

I ran ESET again and although it did stop responding again at 99% it went on to finish with 0 threats discovered.

None so far; and, it's been over 12 hours since the last scan. Can't thank you enough for the help.
