How much can it cost to run your own radio station?


Hey everyone I'm Allen I am a young web developer/designer/programmer I also help people with computer issues including hardware problems, malware/viruses infections and software conflicts. I am a kind and easy to get along with person so if you need help feel free to ask.

You can get a very short range FM transmitter for $25-50US. They're intended for things like linking an MP3 player to a car's radio so, as I say, the range is very short (a few meters.)

 

Anything more powerful than that is going to start running into some serious cash.

No I mean like a professional radio station like fx1019 or news 9.57 or the bounce or c100 fm

I don't know exactly how much, but I imagine several million for equipment, electricity, licensing, etc.

Hope you have a few hundred thousand just to get started and few million in the bank to run it before the ad revenue kicks it to keep it operating. My neighbor said that when he worked at a small radio station in the 70's the monthly electric bill was over $100,000.00.
