I want to reformat my hard drive as the OS is very corrupt and many programs don't work.  I have a Dell desktop with Windows 7 home premium 64 bit.

How do I reformat it?

Thank you.

Well...before doing anything, I suggest that you check the functional status of the hard drive.  You can use the Dell Diagnostics mechanism for this.

If there are no hardware problems...then you can just use the Dell mechanism for restoring the system to factory defaults.

I can't seem to access it.  Please just give me the directions to reformat the drive.

Thank you.

I think we need to know a few more things first

--- Fortunately I haven't had to reformat a drive yet without any system discs but there are ways to do so

--- If all you want to know is directions to reformat the drive then I'm sure one of us can come up with that but I don't think any one of us want to be responsible for you losing your data if we can help it

--- Do you have any system discs for your computer, OS and programs (Office etc) and have backed up your data?
