unknown data in my C drive

Hello Masters

Throuth WinDirStat I found a relatively big area with yellow color in my C drive with the name”unknown”with 1.4 gb under the “files”section .and that’s it not any other information.How can I found out what it is. My system XP SP3

Open the folders...take a look at the contents...seems simplest to me.

 

It would help if you post the file path.

Hello Luis

In order to open this folder, tried by many ways to access inside it but not succeeded.

Eventually I started to read the so called user guide of WinDirStat, in the section of FAQ, I found my answer, I quote it hereunder:

“ On my XP WinDirStat shows more than a GB <Unknown>, what's wrong?

Nothing. XP quite often creates rather big 'System restore points' under C:\System Volume Information, but denies access to it. “
