WiFi is an abbrefiation for a Wireless Network. Alot of people have been setting up Wireless routers in there houses to acess the internet from anywhere in the house wirelessly .

There are also what you call WiFi Hotspots with are cafes, airports and other places that support wireless internet. So if you are on a flight and stop at an airport with a wifi network you can whip out your laptop and connect to the internet to check your e-mails or whatever...

Hope this awnsered your question

A router is a device that you can hook up multiple devices (mostly computer but now can be xbox, ps2...) and let them communicate with each other, it's basically a switch board but really inteligent. You can also hook up the WAN (Wide Area Network) wich is basically the internet. So if you have what is called a 4 port router then you can hook up 4 computers that all use the same wire to get to the internet.

Hope this helps

swas I believe klinkaroo will agree that we don't mind any questions. That is what makes BC different from other forums. We are here for the new user as well as the advanced user who needs a little help. No one is going to say anything if you ask basic question. Everyone of us started asking the exact same question. Feel free to ask anything you wish and someone will answer, I promise.

Ohh yea. Even the best of us have bad days. And some days we can't see the forest for the trees. Its amazing how we solve problems sometimes. I appreciate the responses to questions. That helps me greatly and even gives me new ideas of what to look for or how to do something.

Thanks a bunch
