Hey guys! Im new and not very good with computers. I recently purchased a new desktop and starting downloading and installing new hardware on it but nothing malicious. However, I've been recently getting the BSOD a lot more often but can seem to pinpoint how or why. I used the BSOD zip program that I saw on a forum here and got these results from the last 3 BSOD errors....any advice on what it could be??

Do you have Service Pack 1 installed?

Sftplaywin7.sys is part of Microsoft Application Virtualization.

Microsoft has a hotfix for this, you can download it here.

Please download BlueScreenView and allow the program to run.

When the scan is done you will see an image similar to the one below.  The area outlined in red has been added.

bluescreenview2_zps56d29dda.png

Click on Edit and then Select all.

Click on File, then Save Selected Items, save the report as BSOD.txt, click on Save.

You need to open Notepad, to do this go to All Programs, Accessories and click on Notepad.

In Notepad click on Flie, then Open, this will open in Library, if it hasn't opened Documents do so.  If it has opened Documents you should see a file which is titled readme, click on this, highlight the content, copy it and past it in your next post.

Not sure where I can tell if Service Pack 1 is installed or not. It didn't appear in any searches.

I did the BlueScreenView and this is what came up.

To see if you have SP 1 go to the start menu and right click on Computer, then click on properties.  The information will be toward the top of the page under View basic information about your computer.

Those three are the same ones that you posted earlier.

If you haven't done the Hotfix, please do so.

The only thing listed there is:

Windows edition

Windows 7 Ultimate

Then it goes into the system stats and that's it.

Hello EAmo25,

If you would be interested in persuing this a bit further, we would need to gather a little more information about your new computer.

1. )  Please follow this link:  BSOD Posting Instructions Windows 8 - Windows 7 - Vista.

  • Follow all instructions with the exception of:
    • Create a new thread HERE and attach the file(s) after step 4
  • Note: Both files, autoruns and JCGriff2 BSOD collection app, of Step 1 need to be in the Documents folder.

Next, Upload the zipped folder to a File Sharing website of your choosing because Bleeping Computer has a 512 K only upload limit and this file will be much larger.

2. )  To help us get a better look at your computer's hardware, please download and install Speccy by Piriform. (mirror site)

  • Run Speccy and from the top menu, select File --> Publish Snapshot.  Click "Yes" to proceed.
  • Click, Copy to Clipboard and  paste this address into your next post.

3. )  Please download MiniToolBox by Farbar, save it to your Desktop, then run it.

  • Check the following checkbox:
    • List Installed Programs
  • Then click Go.
    • Highlight the contents of  Result.txt.
    • Copy (Ctrl + C), then Paste (Ctrl + V)  the contents of this file into your next post.

Thank you,

Regards,
Brooks

This means that you don't have Service Pack 1.  This is an important update, I would advise installing it.
